Combined Tai Chi & Qigong Workshops
for health and wellbeing
Tai Chi is a traditional Chinese martial art, which combines relaxation and exercise in a series of continuous, flowing movements. Helping to cultivate a feeling of calmness, it is unsurprisingly often referred to as 'yoga in motion', a moving meditation and a powerful key to relaxation, focus and concentration.

Qigong, (Chi Kung) is an ancient Chinese energy cultivation technique. Its aim is to stimulate and balance the flow of chi, or "vital energy" through the body. Using easy-to-follow combinations of controlled breathing, focused concentration, and simple movements Qigong exercises help to remove blocks and increase the flow of energy through your body.

When it flows free, Chi energy heals and restores the body.
 

In a workshop or class that combines the teaching of both disciplines, the benefits of developing ability in both martial art and energy cultivation are enjoyed: A healthy body and an alert mind which can respond to the requirements of an increasingly stressful environment with the ability to establish and maintain health and well-being.

Tai Chi & Qigong Solo Tuition

There are many benefits to one-to-one tuition that can make it an attractive alternative or supplement to class work. It is possible to proceed more quickly with one-to-one tuition so that the Tai Chi form can be acquired much sooner (especially if you are practicing regularly at home, in between periods of instruction).

Learning Qigong at the same time as learning Tai Chi allows students to apply many of the fundamental principles acquired from one discipline to the learning of the other. As many of these fundamental principles are the same it makes the learning process easier when a lesson learned in one discipline can be applied to the other.

One-to-one tuition also makes it possible for you to progress at your own pace, to arrange instruction times that may be more suited to a busy schedule, or to fit around shift-work that is regularly changing.

Solo tuition also allows for special needs, disabilities or individual requirements to be accommodated into a specially tailored teaching program. All tuition takes place at our premises at Therapy Training School.

Associated topics may also be mentioned such as: Chakra Balancing, Reiki, Chanting, Meditation, Visualisation and Energy Work.

Solo tuition is offered in one-hour classes and may be booked for any weekday by arrangement. The first appointment time in the morning is 10.00am and the last is 6.00pm

Tai Chi & Qigong 1 Day Workshops

Many of the fundamental principles that underpin the theory and practice of Tai Chi and Qigong are introduced and explored during a one-day workshop. After some gentle stretching and warm-up exercises, the aspects of breath work and energy flow in the body are explored via simple qigong movements. Part of the Tai Chi form is taught in the morning following the introduction to Qigong.

Additional Qigong exercises are taught in the afternoon and the sequence of Tai Chi is extended with further movements

Part of the Tai Chi form can be learned in this workshop, and may be further developed in a course of class work.

To round off the day, there will be guided meditation and visualisation exercises designed to pull together all of the positive health and relaxation aspects of the day. An enriching experience with a feel-good factor that will last for weeks.

This workshop is a must for people who wish to explore the benefits of Tai Chi for the first time or who wish to revisit some of the essential principles of healing and deep relaxation.

One-day Workshops may be delivered at your premises in the UK by arrangement. Costs are dependant upon number of participants and travel distance.

Abroad
One-day Workshops may be delivered at your premises anywhere in the world by arrangement. Costs are dependant upon number of participants. Airfares, transport, accommodation and food for the tutor would be included in the cost. Please note that it is the responsibility of the client to obtain permission as required from government agencies and appropriate insurance cover for the day(s).
