Acupressure, Healing Massage & Meridian Therapy offered at Therapy Training School
in Staffordshire

Using a combination of Eastern healing techniques can sometimes provide the remedy to physical problems that just don't seem to go away. If you suffer from hypertension, sore back, shoulder and neck muscles or a repetitive strain injury then this is the therapy to consider.

Treatment is usually focused on the back where the major muscles of the torso and those supporting the spine can be treated. Acupressure points are also used to create a similar effect to that of Acupuncture but without the needles. The body's energetic Meridians are also treated to being health and balance back to the nervous system and help repair damage. Tired or sore muscles are massaged to bring lasting relief and renewed energy.

Your first visit

Before treatment takes place a full consultation is conducted to check that there are no contraindications and to ensure that treatment is delivered in the most effective way for each client's unique requirements. Treatment takes place in a relaxing environment with soothing music and aromas.

Treatment takes place on a therapy couch and involves massage mainly on the back. Acupressure techniques will also be used on the various energetic meridians of the body mainly on the back with treatment on the legs and arms if required.

Contraindications

This therapy is NOT recommended if any of the following conditions apply or have been diagnosed by your GP (if in doubt, always consult your GP before applying for therapy):

• During pregnancy
• Recent stroke, haemorrhage or blood clots
• Recent surgery or injury to the head or neck (including whiplash)
• Excessively high or low blood pressure (except if controlled by medication)
• Serious heart conditions/circulatory disorders
• Infectious diseases
• Thrombosis or embolism
• Severe attacks of osteoporosis, spondylitis, rheumatoid or osteo-arthritis
• Large areas of wounds, cut or abrasions on the body
