We have compiled the top ten frequently asked questions which students have asked before and after a training course (and this also includes some general questions about training courses). We hope that this will be of use to all students who are either considering booking a course with us, or have just booked a course on-line. We try at all times to make our training courses as easy-to-follow as possible so that each person's experience of training is a pleasant and productive one.

Indian Head Massage Therapist Training
" I recently attended Therapy Training School for training in Indian Head Massage. Therapy Training School itself is a wonderfully calming place and has an aura of peace and tranquility which automatically put me at my ease on arrival. The training room itself was ideally laid out for training and had a relaxed but professional atmosphere about it. The teacher instantly made me feel at home and so any sort of nerves went straight out of the window! The training itself was taught in a methodical way, covering all the theory first before 'towelling up' for the practical side! I found the teaching method clear and consise and very easy to follow. The whole day was full of learning all kinds of theory on anatomy, techniques and client consultation advice as well as in depth practical training which was detailed, professional yet relaxing and informal. The contents of the course was great, it covered everything a budding therapist would need to know and more! and I found the course handout/training manual extremely helpful once I got home as it outlined all the techniques that are used in IHM so at least I knew I had something to look back on if I had any doubt. At the end of the day, after all the theory and practical training, I felt I had learnt so much and was thrilled to receive my certificate, The teacher was also great in that she even offered any phone advice should we have any questions afterwards, which was very reassuring to know. All in all, I'd say the cost of the course is easily reflected in the amount of training, learning and practical work you get to do on the days training and was in my opinion extremely good value for money and I am keen to get started with more training at Therapy Training School!" Swedish Massage Course Excellent Tuition
" My husband bought me this course for Christmas and is the best present i've ever received. I turned up expecting it to be very "school" like and couldn't have been more wrong. Our tutor soon put us all at ease and was an excellent teacher. The 2 days were long and very tiring but well worth it. I think the training manual is also an excellent guide as the drawings in there helped and still do help keep me on track. Holistic Massage Course
" I was a bit unsure what to expect for a massage course that was so short and how much I would learn, to then practice professionally. However I cannot credit the school enough. I've left feeling so confident in my ability as a masseuse and learnt so much. Each section of the body is broken down and you learn how to treat each area. You get a real understanding of what each technique is used for and gain a real understanding of massaging muscle groups. You are also taught towel management to make sure the client is covered appropriately and they feel comfortable. With the amount of students in each class being so small, you really feel a sense of one-on-one tuition.A fantastic teacher with a great personality, who immediately made everyone on the course feel really comfortable. I've already practiced on several friends and family who are already referring people to me. If you are thinking about doing a massage course, this is absolutely the right choice for you. I really cannot say enough to credit the school, but will say that many friends and family are even happier than me that I've done the course. "

Better than 16 weeks at college
" I first came across Therapy Training School when I was looking for an ear candling course to further my skills after completing Indian Head Massage through a night course at my local college. Right from the outset, I was extremely impressed by the professionalism and enthusiasm from the tutor, Karen Hemming, who is also the Principal of the school. The environment was beautifully suited to learning and along with Karens engaging teaching style; I found the course both informative and enjoyable. During the facial massage training I became very aware that some of the techniques I had previously learnt were not effective and needed a lot of refinement so I booked to attend the Indian Head Massage course with the Therapy Training School a couple of weeks later. The Indian Head training was a complete revelation after my previous course and I learned more in the one day than I had in the 16 weeks at college. Karen went through all the techniques thoroughly until all the participants were working correctly and with confidence. Karen also participated in the massage to test our techniques; this was in stark contract to the college style which was strictly on a watch and repeat after me basis. As you are given all the relevant theory to read through before the session, you can have it fresh in your mind rather than trying to take all the new information which allows full concentrate on the finer points of delivering a full and effective treatment. One major difference between Therapy Training School Indian Head course to that at my college was the use of the massage table for the facial massage rather than having the client lean back on a stool and rest against the therapist. Having both received and executed massages on both styles, I personally found the table massage preferable for being massages and delivering the treatment. All in all I would like to highly recommend this training school to anyone who wants to learn new skills or just refresh and update their current ones. "

Indian Head Massage and Hopi Ear Candling Training
" Further to our conversation the other day, I am happy to give feedback on the training I have received from you in Hopi Ear Candling and Indian Head Massage. In general I found the training to be very professional in their approach and certainly the setting and the facilities were very very good. On a personal level, I learn best through a hands on approach and I was not disappointed. The teacher had a very easy manner, but still managed to inspire confidence that you are experienced and really do know what you are talking about. That translates into a training experience that is full of information but also fun. I very much liked the mixture of information given followed by personal hands-on practical work in each area before moving on to the next part of the course. I also found the number of people on the course to be just right - enough to give other people's input and for everybody to have sufficient opportunity to work through the practical aspects of the courses, but not too many that you struggle to get an opportunity to have a go. The handouts were very good and also gave information on where to get supplies, etc. The setting was also very nice and there was a constant supply of tea and coffee and a good number of breaks. All in all, I found the workshops to be good value for money and I would not hesitate to book for other courses in the future. "

Reiki Level One Training and Attunement
" After searching around for a Reiki tutor in the Staffordshire area I read an article in the Sentinel about Therapy Training School. My friend had told me "you don't find Reiki, Reiki finds you". I gave them a call and arranged to go along for an informal chat. Karen Aitken is the Reiki Master and she gave me a very warm welcome. I was quite nervous but Karen's easy going, calming style put me right at ease within moments. After about 30 minutes she had given me some general background about Reiki and what things the Level One workshop included, I went away enthused and looking forward to learning Reiki. A week later I was back for my Reiki Level One Training and Attunement. The day consisted of a detailed induction in the morning, where i learned all about the history, principles and lineage of Reiki. It is essential to have a good grounding in the principles of Reiki so that you might appreciate it more greatly and also, use it more wisely. My attunement was a great experience. Reiki is energy that's all around us, but to be able to channel it the student must first be attuned. Don't worry, it's totally painless. Within days of being attuned and practicing reiki healing on myself I noticed how well I was sleeping and my intuition improved greatly. I was seeking stability in my life and since then I have met my partner and we now have a beautiful daughter. Later this year I'm hoping to take my Reiki Level Two. I'll definitely be visiting Therapy Training School again due to their kindness and broad knowledge of our shared passion - Reiki. "
